The Nairobi Performance Series was a production platform held between 2015 to 2016. aimed at supporting new works and cross-disciplinary collaborations. Held four times a year, each edition showcased new productions, offering performers and creators the opportunity to develop ideas, pursue local and international collaborations, and adapt to new working methods in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Curated by Kefa Oiro and Moturi Kebaya, with input from Goethe-Institut Kenya representatives, the series brought together diverse artists working across various disciplines. It focused on presenting premieres, documenting productions, and sharing research outcomes with the public.
Participants, including dance artists and choreographers, developed their work over two months, culminating in a premiere, technical support, and video documentation of the creative process.
